Josh & Alexandra

After extensive medical trauma, Alexandra was determined to become a mother and with Josh by her side they began to explore starting their journey to parenthood. After suspected endometriosis and a ruptured cyst leading to hemorrhaging, they quickly realized it would not be as easy as they had hoped. In 2022, a sizable endometrioma was found on Alexandra’s latest ultrasound, alongside some lesions on her uterus. The couple chose to do surgery in hopes of being able to get pregnant, despite a deep fear of being severely harmed due to past medical trauma. They attempted three rounds of Letrozole and progesterone with no success. Like every other month, each of these months began with new hope and ended with devastation. Their medical team ran numerous labs to include TSH, FSH, AMH, a standard CBC, a semen analysis and all came back normal. Along with medical guidance, they believe that IVF will give them the best chance for growing a family. They have had to fight every step of the way over the last four years and would love to put away our “swords” for a while.

They were recipients of the Evelynn Grant in 2023.
