The-truth-about-infertility-24
There are so many amazing people who desire to touch the lives of those experiencing infertility and we want to help you get to know them. Today’s guest is Corinne, the founder of Boo & Rook. She has mixed her passion for family and interior design into one by way of creating inviting family spaces that are sure to be one of a kind spaces where memories are made. There is a special place in her heart for couples who are experiencing infertility, and she has created a movement to help them celebrate becoming parents. Here’s what Corrine has to say about her journey and movement, enjoy!

What Sparked Your Love for Design?

“I fell in love with design after my husband and I bought our home in 2010 – a church turned candy factory. We spent a year gutting and renovating it, and that’s when I caught the design bug. You know the Miranda Lambert song, “The House That Built Me”? That song stands 100% true for me, I actually have a sign with that phrase on it in my entryway. In 2016, I decided to finally follow my passion for interior design and opened Boo & Rook. My focus is all on family. I love creating beautiful spaces where families are born, children grow and memories are made.” – Corrine

What is Your Design Style?

“I like describing it has simply classic and playfully modern. This translates to a mix of neutrals and classic pieces that stand the test of time mixed with playful pops of color and trendy pieces that add personality to the space.” – Corrine

Tell Us About Your Nursery Line!

“My new nursery line is currently just on Etsy, however, I am in the process of getting everything on my website as well. I currently have crib sheets and blankets and will be adding swaddles, pillows, artwork, wallpaper, curtains, and other decor items. The overall vibe of my line is classic, modern and whimsical. Classic designs/silhouettes redesigned with a modern twist.” – Corrine

What Do You Love Most About Boo & Rook?

“One of the best parts about Boo & Rook are the connections with fellow women and mothers I get to make. In 2017, I had the privilege of being introduced to Victoria of Expecting Anything. We met through a mutual friend and the power of social media. I was immediately moved by her story and raw honesty about her long battle with infertility. And although we had never officially met, I felt a strong desire to help in any way that I could. After 5 years of fighting, she and her husband announced that they were finally expecting, Naturally, I reached out and offered my services for free. During the process, Victoria and I became good friends and have come together to be able to offer this incredible gift to other infertility warriors and women who have fought for their miracle babies. Let’s be real, the nursery is more for the expectant mother than the baby (the room becomes about them when they’re toddlers). After struggling and wondering if it will ever happen, a lot of times it becomes difficult to envision the designated room as a nursery and to allow yourself to fully feel and express that joy. And that’s how the Dream Nursery Movement was born, that’s why it’s so important to Victoria and I. We wholeheartedly hope this becomes a movement.” – Corrine

What is the Dream Nursery Movement?

“With the Dream Nursery Movement, we give away a nursery design at least once a quarter. Victoria (@expectinganything) is the voice in the infertility community and beyond and I (@booandrook) am the designer making the magic happen. The beauty of the e-design package that we give away is truly is a personalized blueprint. It lays out a personalized design for the nursery, a 3D layout, shoppable links for every item in the nursery, designer notes, and design boards. It takes away the stress of designing the nursery and gives them the tools to create it, so they are still a huge part of the process and get to skip the anxiety and move straight to the joy.” – Corrine
