The numbers above are a snapshot of our lives and journey the last four and a half years. Infertility is hard. It affects 1 in 8 people. It is physically, mentally, spiritually and financially exhausting. My main emotion starting this journey was anger. I hated seeing pregnancy announcements, friends with their babies, going to baby showers, people complaining about their children, baby aisles, etc. I can’t tell you how many times I had to take a break from social media and friends because I couldn’t bare to see what I didn’t have, what I yearned to have. I was mad at God, mad at our bodies, mad at the situation, mad at the world. Why did God let all these people be parents who didn’t deserve the children they had? What was wrong with me? Was I not good enough? Was I being punished for something? I found out that I had to work through all of the anger and hurt to see what God wanted me to see. He wanted me to give up control. (which if you know me, isn’t easy 😜) He wanted me not to judge others because I couldn’t see all that they were going through. He wanted me to see that His plan is greater. He wanted me to know that He would take care of everything in His timing if I would let Him.
